A counsellor for Calgary — minus the commute

TEO Counselling is a fully virtual practice, so there is no office to drive to in Calgary — no waiting room, no parkade, no crosstown traffic. You meet your counsellor by encrypted video from home, a parked car on a lunch break, or anywhere with a door that closes.

Virtual care suits how this city runs. Shift rotations, hospital schedules, small businesses whose day never quite ends — our evening and weekend hours exist because most working Calgarians can’t disappear for a 2pm appointment.

And if life moves you elsewhere, you keep the same counsellor — we work with clients across Alberta, BC, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

How we help Calgarians

Trauma & Anxiety Therapy

Evidence-based care for trauma, PTSD, panic, and anxious overthinking. Mohamad is EMDRIA-trained in EMDR and trained in Internal Family Systems (Levels 1–2) and CBT for Trauma — approaches that work with the nervous system rather than around it.

Couples & Marriage Counselling

Marriage counselling in Calgary shouldn’t require two people fighting traffic to the same office. Virtual sessions let you join from the couch — or two different postal codes. Gottman Method work (Levels 1–2) targets conflict cycles, trust repair, and the slow drift into roommate mode.

ADHD-Related Stress & Overwhelm

Many adults reach out when ADHD-related stress spills over — missed deadlines, collapsing routines, procrastination shame, friction at home. We offer counselling support for the overwhelm and self-criticism underneath it. We do not diagnose or assess ADHD; that remains with your physician — therapy works alongside that care.

Common questions about counselling in Calgary

How do I find a therapist in Calgary?

You can book directly with TEO Counselling — no referral or doctor’s note needed. Start with a free 15–20 minute video consultation, tell us what you’re dealing with, and we’ll match you with the counsellor who fits best. Most new clients have their first full session within days.

How much does counselling cost in Calgary?

Individual sessions are $150 per hour and couples sessions are $175 per hour. Sliding-scale spots are available if cost is a barrier, and the initial consultation is always free. You receive a receipt after every session; many Alberta extended health plans cover counselling by a Canadian Certified Counsellor or Registered Social Worker — check your plan’s details.

Do you offer marriage counselling for Calgary couples?

Yes. Mohamad provides couples and marriage counselling using the Gottman Method (Levels 1 and 2 trained). Sessions run evenings and weekends, and each partner can join the video call from a different location — useful when shift work or travel keeps you apart.

Is online therapy as effective as meeting in person?

For most concerns — anxiety, trauma, depression, and relationship difficulties — research shows video-delivered therapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person care. Many clients find it easier to open up from home.

Can you help with ADHD-related stress?

We support adults navigating the stress that often travels with ADHD — overwhelm at work, collapsing routines, procrastination guilt, and strain on relationships. We do not diagnose or assess ADHD; diagnosis stays with your physician or a qualified assessor, and counselling works alongside that care.

When are appointments available?

Evening appointments run Monday to Friday from 6:30pm to 9pm, with weekend availability from 12pm to 9pm. We confirm times in your local Calgary time when you book.
